Legacy Giving

Leave a Lasting Legacy at Midleton College

At Midleton College, we are deeply grateful for the support and dedication of our community—parents, alumni, and friends—who have played a vital role in our growth and success. Legacy giving is a profound way to ensure that your values and commitment to education continue to benefit future generations. By including Midleton College in your will, you can make a lasting impact on the lives of students for years to come.

The Importance of Legacy Gifts

Legacy gifts, also known as bequests or charitable bequests, are transformative. They provide crucial funding that helps sustain and enhance the educational experience at Midleton College. Such gifts allow us to plan confidently for the future, knowing that we have the resources to support our mission and goals. Your legacy gift will help ensure that Midleton College continues to be a place of learning, growth, and opportunity for all students.

How Legacy Gifts Make a Difference

Legacy gifts to Midleton College can support various aspects of our school, including:

  • Financial Accessibility: Providing bursaries and scholarships to ensure that talented students from all backgrounds can access our exceptional education.
  • Academic Excellence: Funding innovative teaching methods, curriculum development, and advanced learning technologies.
  • Infrastructure Development: Supporting the maintenance and enhancement of our historic and modern facilities, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Enabling projects that promote sustainability and reduce our environmental impact.

Examples of Impact

  • Future Campus Development: Your legacy gift can help us future-proof our campus, creating efficient and inspiring spaces for learning and growth.
  • Bursaries and Scholarships: Expanded financial support can open doors for more students, allowing them to benefit from the Midleton College experience regardless of their financial situation.
  • Enhanced Facilities: Contributions can lead to the development of new teaching areas, sports facilities, music rooms, and more, enriching the overall student experience.

How to Include Midleton College in Your Will

Including Midleton College in your will is a straightforward process. With the help of your solicitor, you can add a clause to your will that specifies your gift. Here are some sample wordings:

For a gift of the residue of an estate: “I give to Midleton College, located in East Cork, Republic of Ireland, all (or a fraction) of the residue of my estate whatsoever and wheresoever, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other officer for the time being of the said Organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge of the same.”

For a gift of a fixed sum or specific item: “I give the sum of €_______ or I bequeath (the item specified) to Midleton College, located in East Cork, Republic of Ireland, and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the said Organisation shall be proper and sufficient discharge for the same.”

Informing Us of Your Decision

While you are under no obligation to inform us of your decision to leave a legacy gift, knowing about your plans can help us acknowledge your generosity and keep you updated on the impact of your future gift. Please feel free to contact the Midleton College Foundation if you have any questions or if you wish to discuss your legacy gift in more detail.

Thank you for considering such a meaningful contribution. Your legacy gift will help ensure that Midleton College continues to thrive, providing exceptional education and opportunities for future generations. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
