This year, our Transition Year students took part in the Student Enterprise Programme as part of the TY Enterprise module.
Students developed their own company ideas and prepared detailed reports for the Student Enterprise Programme judges. These reports examined each company’s marketing mix, intellectual property, and financial projections. A number of students were selected to travel to MTU to showcase their mini‑companies in person. At MTU, a panel of judges visited the students’ stalls where they presented their ideas. Our students competed against several schools across Munster.
A massive well done to Hami Ruppelt , Rachel Roche, and Andrea Herbert, who impressed the judges with their business Eco Prints. Their company uses environmentally friendly and ethically sourced materials to create artistic posters, placing sustainability at the heart of their idea. The girls achieved an award for Best Use of Sustainability. This was a fantastic accomplishment and something we are very proud of.
Ethan O’ Sullivan and Jasper Hugh Jones also did an amazing job with their company TeckIT, developing an AI‑based website designed to help our students reconnect with lost items. Their concept was both clever and practical, and it was selected to be part of the Student Enterprise Awards. They presented their business to a panel of judges and gained many valuable skills and experiences throughout the process.
Both groups spoke exceptionally well on the day. Well done to everyone involved!
