Soccer Sisters in Seville

Soccer Sisters in Seville

The first day in Seville was a very enjoyable and very eventful experience for all. We began the day visiting St. Mary’s School and the girls all met their Spanish partner, gifting them a matching Soccer Sister’s Jersey. We enjoyed a tour of their very impressive school, and we were treated to traditional Spanish churros.
An unexpected country-wide power outage caused a change to our plans. However, the girls all demonstrated exceptional resilience, positivity and adaptability to the unforeseen events.
The day ended on a positive note, with the mixed soccer teams formed, and the first of the soccer tournament games were played in the sun.

*** Day 2 ***
Day two was a busy day for all, with a jam-packed schedule from breakfast until dinner.
We began our day with an excursion to the city centre where both Midleton College and St. Mary’s enjoyed a scenic bicycle tour through beautiful landmarks in Seville City. The girls were treated to Spanish snacks gifted from their partner to end the tour. We then went to the local sports centre to play some entertaining futsal matches between the teams established in yesterday’s session.
After lunch, we made our way back into the city centre, where the girls enjoyed some free time to roam the streets and have some well-earned retail therapy. We ended the day with a walk up the beautiful structure of Las Setas, which towers over the city, showing panoramic views of the skyline.
Overall, we enjoyed a day of fun, sport and culture, and are looking forward to the events tomorrow.
