The Senior A girls hockey squad secured a hard fought and narrow 2-1 victory against Sacred Heart Clonakilty on Tuesday this week in the cup quarter final. Having taken an early lead through a tidy finish from Alison Tanner, Clonakilty equalised soon after, with a well worked goal of their own. With the full-time whistle blown, they managed to win a short corner. With every one of our players up for it, in an effort to try and find a winner and to avoid the dreaded shuttles, Rachel Sweetnam struck a reverse stick shot sweetly and firmly into the bottom corner to give them a last gasp win! They will now play Scoil Mhuire in the cup semi-final, but their next fixture will be the league semi-final against Rockwell (a) on Wednesday January 21st at 11am. Well done girls and best of luck in the next game! 😊👍🏑
