Erasmus+ Soccer Sisters Visit

Erasmus+ Soccer Sisters Visit

This week at Midleton College, we were delighted to welcome back fourteen students and two teachers from St. Mary’s School in Seville as part of the return leg of our shared Erasmus+ project, Soccer Sisters. The aim of this initiative is to promote female participation in soccer and sports while fostering cultural exchange between the two schools.

During their time in Ireland, students from both schools took part in a variety of activities, including preparing pre and post exercise healthy snacks in Home Economics, engaging in team-building challenges, and participating in futsal tournaments. They also enjoyed excursions to the Cobh Titanic Heritage Centre, Spike Island, and University College Cork, and had the chance to attend some academic classes throughout the week.

Today marks the conclusion of a successful pilot project that has not only encouraged greater involvement in sport among female students but also strengthened the relationship between our two schools. ⚽️ 🇪🇸 🇮🇪
