The Senior A squad played Rockwell College in the cup final today in Rockwell. The girls started well and went 1-0 up in the first quarter, through a well worked short corner routine which was swept home by Rachel Sweetnam. Rockwell equalised just before the end of the first quarter to make it 1-1. Rockwell then took the lead in the second quarter to make it 2-1 and that’s how it stayed until half time. The second half was just as evenly contested as the first, with both teams creating promising opportunities to score. Our girls battled hard and played really well but couldn’t find the equaliser by the end. 2-1 the final score, very disappointing. A big thank you must go to the supporters and teachers for travelling up to cheer on the girls and to Dr. Gash for umpiring the match. Well done girls, we’re all very proud of you for what has been an excellent season! Commiserations to Ava and her squad, but well done throughout the season!
