PTA Spanish Night

On Friday March 3rd the PTA hosted a Spanish themed night for parents and what a fun filled night it was !. Having braved the dreadful weather conditions 60 guests were rewarded with a evening filled with wonderful Spanish food, wine and music in a Dining Hall transformed for the night into a cosy Spanish Taverna bedecked with flowers, candles, fairy lights and lots of colour thanks to Maria and her team and the PTA committee ! The evening started with a welcoming glass of Spanish wine in the Arches and guests mingled while mellow Spanish music played in the background.

Once everyone was seated our wine expert  who so kindly gave of his time on the night, Leslie Williams, (Wine critic for The Examiner) did a fantastic job in creating an informal and relaxed atmosphere by sharing his expert knowledge of Spanish wines in an informative, compelling  yet  fun way. Aidan and his team pulled out all the stops and produced plate after plate of mouth watering Spanish Tapas worthy of a place on any Spanish Tapas Bar menu. Our Spanish students entertained us with a couple of lively Spanish songs and no doubt felt very proud to have their culture centre stage on the night. A Spanish themed quiz between each wine and tapas serving pitched table against table and competition was strong !!

So a big Thank you to everyone who made the night the great success it was……The PTA Committee, The Kitchen/Dining Hall Staff, our Spanish students  and of course our guests. A special word of thanks must go to Ms Dawson from our Spanish Department who worked hard in the weeks beforehand to bring it all together on the night. Muchisimas Gracias !
