School Closure Update

Update 24th June

Planning for the re-opening of Midleton College for our staff, day pupils and our boarders is proceeding.  Guidance is expected from the Department of Education in relation to safety precautions for pupils and staff during the school day.  In the meantime, the College has engaged professional consultants to assist in the development of contingency plans, should they be required. We have also combined with other boarding schools to develop a set of procedures for safe re-opening using international and Irish public health advice. We will continue to work throughout the summer months to ensure that we are ready to welcome you and your child safely at the end of August.

He said they owed it to young people to "see this through and try to have the exams this year".

He said by that he meant "the dates that are defined for this year". He said his department was working towards this.
