On Friday the 1st of March TY students set off to cycle 46kms from Dungarven to Waterford City along the Greenway. The weather was fine, we were in great spirits and got off to a flying start.
We stopped every 10 kms or so to have a drink of water and to take photos and stopped in Kilmacthomas for lunch at the old workhouse. Then the fatigue set in. However when the going got tough, the tough kept going and we shouldered on. We had a flat tyre at one stage and the last 13kms were not easy as it rained the whole way, but what a sense of achievement when we arrived in Waterford, wet and bedraggled, to hand back our bikes and helmets. Cycling is a great form of exercise and amid beautiful scenery, what more could you ask for.
It was a great teambuilding experience and well done to all who participated.
