We are delighted to announce three mini companies from our school have been selected to take part in the Schools Enterprise Regional Finals. In the senior category
- Glencairn Farm Ice Cream-
George and Kevin established their company during the Summer months prior to beginning the mini company module showing initiative and ambition. To date, their artisan ice cream is sold in our school Tuck Shop and is available in a variety of flavours. George and Kevin have an extensive Business Plan which will be available to view online after the regional finals. They are also in talks with supermarkets hoping to sell their products in the locality of Midleton we hope to see Glencairn Ice cream on many shelves in the future. We wish them the best of luck in the competition.
- WDM Medical
Liam, Max and Julian had an innovative idea to develop a product to assist with ECG heart machines. This cable reel would be an essential component to aid hospitals with their medical ware. This idea helped build their company WDM Medical. They have worked in a company to develop a prototype which is being unveiled at the regional finals. Best of luck!
In the intermediate category we have Gaeilge Iontach
- Laura developed a website to teach outle native language to primary school students. This is a huge achievement for Laura and shows her extensive knowledge and technology skills. Laura will be competing in the intermediate category and we wish her the best of luck!
- Both WDM Medical and Gaeilge Iontach won first prize at the South Cork Trade Fair.
The event takes place in Devere Hall, 1stFloor, The Student Centre (beside Honan Chapel), University College Cork (UCC) on Thursday 3rd March 2016.
