Spanish Night a Huge Success

Our Spanish Social night was very well attended event, wither 100 guests in attendance. One of the  highlights  of the evening was when the renowned archaeologist Paul O’Keefe presented ‘The Besieged in Kinsale 1601. It was an outstanding presentation done in graphic and dynamic style and absorbed by the captive audience.
Our Spanish Honorary Vice-Consul from the Spanish Embassy, Catalina Goode López, also attended and what a tremendous honour and privilege it was for Midleton College. Some of our Spanish boarders, Monica, Jimena, Jaime, Lucia, Ana and Lola provided superb entertainment and, that along with the Spanish quiz and spot prizes, ensured that all the audience enjoyed the evening thoroughly.

Midleton College Chef, John, with Marie and their team served a delicious, thoroughly authentic Cocido Madrileno but what added the special touch to his menu was undoubtedly his Tarta de Santiago, with the St James cross stencilled on top of it. Red and Spanish wines were supplied by Supervalu.
