Today, 37 students set off on their long journey to Madrid to stay with their Spanish Exchange Partners. On the exchange the students will be accompanied by Ms Dawson, Ms McMahon and Mr Leopold. This is the third time that we are going to Jesus Maestro School in Madrid. The group will return next Saturday morning, October 8th at 2.30 am.

In Madrid, the students will be living in the Spanish households and leading the Spanish way of life for the week. It is an invaluable experience for our Midleton College students as they experience Spanish lessons on Robots, Flamenco Dance, Spanish Cuisine, IT and Spanish language etc along with visiting places of historical and cultural interest. One of the highlights of this Exchange Trip is a visit to the Reina Sofia Art Gallery where our students will see the famous Picasso Guernica painting . On another day the students will visit Segovia, where they will see the 9th Century Roman Aqueduct and go on a fact finding treasure hunt in this town in the mountains with their Spanish partners. On another day the students will visit the Royal Palace where hopefully we will coincide with the change of the mounted Spanish Royal Guards and even catch a glimpse of the Spanish King.

We wish Form 3 students a safe journey and hope they will have a memorable trip .
