Endurance Challenger arrives

Midleton College Transition Year students recently had the pleasure of receiving a very inspiring presentation from James Colbert, a past pupil of the College. James and his cousin Sean Buckley raised just under 200k euro for Cancer Research by undertaking and completing  Endurance Challenge 2068km in August 2014. The challenge involved both James and Sean cycling through every county in Ireland, swimming 120km of the River Shannon and running in four consecutive marathons, a total of 2068km, all in just 21 days. The event is in memory of Sean's father who passed away from cancer in 2012.

James also made a follow up visit to the college on Wednesday of this week where he asked the TY students to come up with ideas that his business, Colbert & Co , could use to improve and build on their existing Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
The Transition Year students came up with a number of excellent suggestions and, true to type, James intends to implement them all!
In return for their enthusiastic help, Colbert & Co have very kindly sponsored a number of prizes that will be distributed to participating students.
