A Fond Farewell

It is with sadness that Midleton College bid farewell to two of its staff at yesterday’s Final Assembly of the year.

Mr. Ian Sexton has worked in the College for the past 18 years during which he has been instrumental in the success of music in the College.  He taught choir, singing, piano and theory as well as being the official accompanist at many school events over the years including Prize Day, the Christmas Carol Service, the Easter Music Service, the Wesley College Interschools Music Festival and Summer Music Evening. He has been a great colleague and we wish him the very best in the future.

We also bid farewell to Ms. Liz Clifford. Ms Clifford has had many roles within the school for the past sixteen years. She coached hockey, organised orienteering and athletics and is also an international hockey umpire who has represented the school and the country at tournaments all over the world.  In recent years Ms. Clifford worked as an SNA with many students within the Learning Support Department. We would like to thank Ms Clifford for her work and dedication to the school and its students and wish her all the very best for the time in this new chapter of her life. She's been a fabulous colleague and the staffroom will be all the more empty with her leaving.
