Pre-School

In 2006 Midleton College received a favourable decision from POBAL, (National Childcare Investment programme) to part fund a purpose built facility.

'Singing in the Rain' preschool and school age Childcare facility is under the management of the Midleton College Trading Company. At present 'Singing in the Rain' runs a preschool service for children aged 3 to 5 years. This service is based upon the Steiner Early Childhood Philosophy. The Preschool is open 5 mornings a week from 8:30 till 12:00. Twenty children attend the preschool at any one time. The after school care facility caters for Primary school children from 13:10 till 17:30. Twenty children attend after school care at any one time.

'Singing in the Rain operates for 49 weeks in the year. The focus of this service is on play based activity while providing appropriate support for the completion of homework. The children are encouraged to utilise all the facilities that Midleton College has to offer, following due consideration of the needs of other campus users.

We are proud of our service to children to date and we are committed to the implementation of ongoing improvements within the new facility through consultation with colleagues,children and their parents.
