Hal Hodson deserves mention for the very considerable feat of scoring 120 not out and batting for the entire innings of 40 overs in the thrilling last-gasp victory over County Kerry CC in the Minor Cup Quarter-Final match in late August.

Hal is the first Midleton CC player to manage this feat of 'carrying his bat' ie remaining an undefeated batsman from the very first ball to the very last ball of an innings.

Hal was ably supported by Simon Brookes in an opening stand of 133 which is also a record score for a Midleton CC 2nd XI 1st wicket partnership and is also the fifth highest partnership in the club's history for any wicket.

Midleton College Cricket Coach Jim Doran managed the Irish U15 cricket team which won the European U15 Championship in Denmark last August, becoming the first Munster-based coach to manage an Irish International Cricket team.

Jim is also one of two Irish Cricket Union nominees currently participating in a Tutor Development course at the University of Limerick's National Coaching and Training Centre which will, by Summer 2007, qualify him to train prospective cricket coaches at local, provincial and national level.
