While weather conditions in the town of Midleton are calm today, travel in the surrounding hinterland is still very difficult. While there has been some thaw, road conditions in areas such as Aghada, Ballynoe, Youghal, the south city and within housing estates remain challenging. It is not possible to guarantee that staff members and/or pupils will be able to travel safely to the College on Tuesday morning.

Therefore Midleton College will remain closed tomorrow Tuesday, 12th January. As a further thaw is predicted for Tuesday 12th, it is our intention to re-open to all pupils on Wednesday 13th January with an 8.50am start.

Boarding pupils may return to the College during the course of Tuesday 12th, if parents/guardians are satisfied that road conditions are safe for their journey. Boarders will be supervised by staff and lunch / dinner / supper provided as normal.

Parents / Guardians & pupils are asked to continue to check the website for further updates. Parents/Guardians will also be contacted by text / email where possible.
