On Tuesday September 29th the Midleton College golf team of Alan Walsh,(c), David Poynton, Nick Burns, Thomas Turkington played the Munster Section of Irish Schools Matchplay Golf Championships at East Cork golf club. With only one team to progress out of 14 teams the standard was very high. Unfortunatly we did not progess but the team aquitted themselves very well. Alan Walsh shot the best score. Thanks to Mr. O’Mahony who is in charge of golf in the school and the Maloney family for their hospitality.

On Tuesday the 13th of October the golf team went to Muskerry Golf Club to play the Munster Section of The Irish Schools Stroke Play Championships. The team consisted of Alan Walsh(C), Dave Poynton and Nick Burns. The standard was very high as only one team advanced from 21 teams. The team played very well with Alan shooting the best score and David shot a very good score also. Well done to the team and a special thanks to Mr. O’Mahony for escorting them.
