The season started well for the Senior boys squad when they got an
early lead over Ashton as a result of a well taken short corner,
resulting in a goal for Shrew Power. We were up against it for the
remainder of the match and we fought all the way, but we were
robbed of a deserved victory at the death with a late goal from the
Ashton side. Meanwhile the u14 boys team were also playing
Ashton, we won 7-1 with a hat-trick from Robert Johnston!
Two senior girls teams travelled to Kilkenny where the Seniors were
defeated 2-1, while the u16b1 team won 3-2! With a goal apiece
from Chantelle Thomas, Fiona Power and Tiger Waite. When
Kilkenny travelled to us the next Wednesday they beat the Senior
Seconds girls 2-0 and the First Year girls 2-1.


 Hockey representative honours
Well done to all those who tried out for the Munster hockey under 18’s and under 16’s boys teams. A special congratulations to Nick Burns,Andrew Power and Greg Chambers on breaking into the under 18’s team and Andrew and Adam Colton on securing sweeper and centre back positions respectively on the under 16’s team. On Sunday September 20th the Munster under 16’s faced the Munster under 18’s and we are delighted to report that Greg Chambers and Andrew Power both scored in an under 18 2-0 victory.
