Historic Moment for Midleton College
Midleton College made history as they played Hurling for the first time ever. This is the first GAA sport officially played in the school. The tournament was for teams in Cork that don’t regularly play Hurling. This is called the Lord Mayor’s Cup. It was played in Christy Ring Park. The boys played against two teams Christians and Carrignavar but failed to win. We were all proud of the team as they played with a lot heart and for a team that only trained a few times played very well. We would like to thank the teachers Mr O’ Mahony and Ms Kelleher for coaching the team.
Pictured below we see members of the squad watching their opponents in action. Opposite page we see one of our own hurlers chasing the ball.
