Midleton College travels to India
Thursday 22 April 2010
This year six students and two teachers travelled to Calcutta. The students were Alex Simonin, Sam Lynch, Sarah Collins, Elsbeth Wolfe, Ruth O’ Callaghan and Evie Mills. The teachers were Mr. Preston and Ms. Stead. During their six day stay in the heart of Calcutta they visited many of The Hope Foundation facilities including boys and girls homes, slum education centers, sports facilities, a hospital, a polio hospital, a creche and drugs rehabilitation center. All of the travellers returned safely with many tales to tell about the work of the Hope Foundation in Calcutta and about the people and facilities our school fundraising continuously supports. Thanks to all students in the school and especially to 4th year for all the fundraising work they have done throughout the year. Also, a big thanks to Mr. Preston and Ms. Stead for co-ordinating fundraising activities again this year and for travelling to Calcutta with the students.
