Transition Year Students travel to Heir Island
Wednesday 31 March 2010
During the weeks from the end of Febuary to the start of March, 4th form were temporarily located on the small but tranquil island of Heir. Amongst the fourth years were feelings of wonder, anticipation and excitement. As we encountered the small isle, we were greeted by the rustic beautiful scenery that Heir Island is so well known for. After we unpacked, the vast array of activities that were to follow commenced; kayaking, sailing, treasure hunting, learning to tie knots, marine biology, and a Heir Island based quiz. Various lectures concerning weather systems and coastal life in general also accompanied the weeks activities. The week was thoroughly enjoyed by all and will surely be long remembered.
