Activities - Christmas Concert

Christmas 2006

We just put on a version of the 'Search for the Holy Grail'  in December 2006.  It was much closer to Monty Python than to the middle english original but it did have all the advantages of 47 actors and 17 crew so everybody had the chance to get a speaking role.

Right down to Hanah who got 'I have a bucket' which I must say she did very well.  As always we finished with a song but there was a little less music this year to give poor Ms. Anderson a rest.  Even if we had so painted props the art dept. must have worked overtime.  My favourite was the many eyed monster of Ahh!

King Authur was played by the very regal Jenifer  Authur  who fought and ran from all manners  of monsters during the show.  The first time that am arm was cut off with a wooden sword.  A real talent for both comedy and action was given to the performance by the very experienced and talented Siofra Fitzgerald.  Both 6th years alas.  We were also treated to some scary (And eccentric) behaviour from Steven Flood as the mighty enchanter Tim.

Political content was added by Cillian Wilcox explaining the benifits of a socialist society to a reluctant king .  With the help of Jenny Molloney they brought out the worst in our hero.  (He was also the monster).

Confused by a 3 headed knight (Josh Spink, Aljandro Burmudez and Teirnan  Brenan) and sent to the break by a very masterful knight who said 'Ni' (Brian O Rouke).  We should mention Alison Kavanagh doing a great job of trying to make sense of a much cleaned up French knight (Yulia).  Megan Keena was the cowardly Sir Robin despite the dancing of her minstral (Katie Porter).

However my favourite scene must be the students from the lower school confronting Roisin Stonach as Bedevere (Soon to be Sir Bedevere) with a member of the magical community as I think we call them now. To be honest it was all fun. Indeed that is the idea!
