Brief Historical Note
From Hugh Symon an Australian cricketer in Midleton College to an interesting parallel.
A Midleton man who played cricket for Australia was Mr. Tom Horan.
His father was a builder who took the family over when Tom was small. At school he met Blackham, later to become a famous Australian wicket keeper.
This stimulated his interest in cricket and he played in the first Test Australia v. England.
He later became know as a sports journalist specialising in cricket.
Sadly we can't say he learnt his cricket at the College.
